​DAILY SCHEDULE (GUIDELINE) 


7:00 a.m. - 6:00 p.m.

Arrival time


·        Morning greetings, child directed activities – read a book, play a game with a friend, drawings

·        Yoga for kids, relaxation music appreciation and dance, story sharing time, morning reading (parent reading volunteer option)

 
8:30 - 10:30

Montessori work time – where self-discovery happens ((Mandarin, Spanish, English Immersion Classroom))
 

   The following subjects are covered during each week:

Arithmetic

All activities incorporate the use of concrete natural materials. Children first learn to count to ten, and systematically progress to solving complex addition, subtraction, multiplication and division questions.

Science and Nature 

Botany - The study of botany is child centered using live plants as a knowledge and interest catalyst.
Zoology - Children by their very nature are fascinated with animals. Children will learn about animals and to respect their needs, habits and characteristics.  Children will also learn how to name farm animals with nouns, articles, adjectives and verbs
Physics / Science experiments - The activities are "hands on".  Prediction and analysis are incorporated into each experiment. 

Language Arts

Children will learn print and cursive using movable sandpaper letters, vocabulary, logical relations, writing, penmanship, phonics and reading, creative language, grammar, and more

Sensorial Development and Music Enrichment

Cubes, cylinders and other objects are used to categorize and understand spatial relationships

Bells are used to teach sound, rhythm, & how to read music

Cultural Awareness

History - By examining their own timeline from birth to present, and their own family tree, children gain their first sense of history, and the concept of time is brought to life
Geography - Starting with land, water and air, and progressing  through photographs, art, geo-molds, space and geography puzzles

9:15 – 9:30

Spanish Circle Time– Vocabulary, movement, Spanish music, group presentations


10:00 - 10:15

Montessori Line-Time (Group Circle Time, Mandarin)
 
10:30 – 11:40

Gross Motor Activities

(Onsite Play Ground/Park, Outdoor Gardening, or Indoor Gymnasium in Inclement Weather

12:00 - 12:30

Lunch (Organic lunch is catered by Gourmet Gorilla) 


 
12:30 - 2:30

Rest time  – Reading and other activities for older kids

  • Individualized instruction for Gifted & Classical test taking skills

  • 2:30 - 2:45

Snack

2:45 - 3:00

Montessori Work Time (Mandarin, Spanish, English Immersion Classroom)


3:00 - 3:15

Montessori Line-Time (Group Circle Time, English)

3:30 - 6:00

Line Time & Recess Activities (e.g.: Collective lessons, look for geometric solids in community, nature walks and cleanup the community, identify different types of local plants, eat a snack, , Chinese calligraphy, creative play, or arts resumes during this time.etc.)

3:30 - 4:15
Recess Activities: 
Walk in neighborhood, look for geometric solids in community, nature walks and cleanup the community, identify different types of local plants, play outside in playlot

4:15 - 6:00
Collective lessons, eat snack, Montessori works, arts, books, creative play, and lego 


Prepare to go home (clean classroom)

Note:  Parents Pick Up beginning at Noon and after (depending on enrollment program). 

 

*Spanish & Mandarin is on the shelf with regular materials and classroom is trilingual immersion.  
**Children diapers are changed throughout the day and also as needed.

***This is an approximation of the daily schedule. Movement in the schedule will be modified according to the children’s needs. Daily schedule is at the discretion of the teacher.
