The Chinese Language (Simplified Mandarin Characters) is the standard form of the Chinese language. Knowledge of the Chinese language will enable better communication with Chinese speaking people and provide a better understanding of Chinese culture.

FEATURES AND PURPOSE OF THIS PROGRAM:
The Enhanced Beginner Level Mandarin Chinese Program is a thoughtfully designed learning course for K-5 students (ages 5-10) who have a foundational knowledge of Mandarin Chinese and seek to advance their proficiency. This program aims to strengthen students’ skills in pronunciation, speaking, reading, listening comprehension, and writing.
Beyond language acquisition, students will also explore Chinese culture, including history, customs, calligraphy, and etiquette, enriching their understanding of both the language and its cultural significance.
STRUCTURE OF THIS PROGRAM
This program consists of 10 weeks of in-person classes held at Montessori Gifted Prep (MGP), with each lesson lasting one hour. Upon completion, the Chicago Mandarin Chinese Center will provide students with complimentary e-learning courses, allowing them to continue learning at their own pace.
Each lesson begins with a brief review of the previous session to reinforce learning and provide an opportunity for students to catch up on any missed material. Instruction is supported by shared learning resources, including but not limited to:

The total fee for this program is $295 per child, with an additional $10 fee for all learning materials.

Esther Liu has over 15 years of experience teaching Mandarin Chinese to native English speakers. She possesses deep expertise in Chinese language, history, literature, and culture.
